A milkweed garden caterpillar attached itself to the bottom of a garden stake, which was resting against an interior side shed wall next to the milkweed garden. I found the chrysalis in the very hot shed about half-way thru the gestation period. I moved the stake out of the shed and laid it across the exterior tops of the mesh enclosures, where it emerged from its chrysalis. A male Monarch emerged.
