Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 06/20/2020

Number: 16

Aprox 16 deceased Monarch caterpillars around yard in various locations. All were either in “J” position or traveling distant from milkweed. Their bodies were flat, weak, lifeless hanging feom fence, plants, ine in milkweed), on outside of other plants’ planters, laying flat iatop soil and similar. Do not know reason for death, but, speculate-red eyed fly, spiders (since cannot use any pesticides or poison), some perhaps because ran out of milkweed/they ate it all, so I feed them summer squash, acorn squash, cucumber. Unknown number of caterpillar died from which reason. No photos. We all know what this looks like. Sad.
