Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/16/2020

Number: 1

Submitted by Don Davis:

Greetings,
The apparently fresh looking adult (sex unknown) was flying in our greenhouse on the campus of Olds College. It eventually flew out of the greenhouse. We have an extensive botanic garden on campus with a variety of plantings, including milkweed (I will find out the species when I am on campus tomorrow). I have seen Monarchs only twice before flying around the botanic gardens in the previous 15 years.

It was a real treat to see.

Sincerely,
Ken
