Benjamin is the son of well known Canadian research associate and lecturer, John Acorn, from University of Alberta. "My name is Benjamin Acorn, and I am writing this email to report a monarch butterfly sighting that I made at ~12:30 today, at the Ellis Bird Farm near Lacombe Alberta. It was easily recognizable but worn, larger than a swallowtail such that I initially mistook its flight for a small bird, before focusing closer on it. seen from perhaps 4-5 meters away. My father John Acorn told me that you are one of the people to tell when it comes to sightings like these, so I hope you find this as interesting as I do.

Cheers,
Benjamin Acorn
