Sightings report image

Date: 04/15/2020

Number: 3

I had a chance to go out for a short walk around 2pm for about 15 minutes. It was sunny, 63 degrees F, with light breezes. For a bit I followed a very faded-winged female monarch who was laying eggs. At times she rested in the grass ~ sunning & warming her outspread wings.

I also saw 2 male monarchs flying around, probably looking for females. They too had very faded wings.

This is a photo of the lovely female as she lays eggs on a milkweed.
