I saw this lovely bright-winged monarch sailing around the front yard this morning. It was around 9:30am, sunny, lightly breezy, and about 72 degrees F. This male monarch appeared to be a newborn, with folds still in his fresh wings ~ he was very sprightly & energetic. I had a hard time getting a photo, but luckily he was pausing a bit to nectar on the self-heal flowers (Prunella vulgaris). A joy to see!
