This is part of a south facing slope on our property that we seeded with native forbs, grasses and sedges in 2010. There's at least 60 different native species. Somethings blooming for the pollinators spring through fall! In the picture Common spiderwort(Tradescantia ohiensis)is in full bloom. Butterfly milkweed(Asclepias tuberosa)will be blooming soon. Other plants pictured but not in bloom yet are Common milkweed(Asclepias syriaca), Wild bergamot(Monarda fistulosa), Compass-plant(Silphium laciniatum), Big bluestem(Andropogon gerardii) and Switch grass(Panicum virgatum).
