Monarch Egg Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/05/2020

Number: 3

I watched the female lay an egg, then I looked around for others, and found two on a nearby plant (on two different leaves). Interesting that both plants were in a shaded area. The plant with 2 eggs was immature, 14 inches, almost under our deck, in the most shaded spot. Plants in this exact location have been used for egg-laying for the past five years. I looked at plants in the sunnier, more dense section of the milkweed garden, and found no eggs. 2:30 PM, sunny, wind 7 mph, 86 F. Monarch WayStation 9418
