Sightings report image

Date: 07/06/2020

Number: 9

The female who laid these 9 eggs on a milkweed that self seeded in a container was either very tired or very lazy. 9 eggs on one leaf. They are safe in my nursery now with plenty of food.

Editor's Note: The milkweed tussock moth lays a group of eggs and all hatch together. Monarchs lay their eggs singly so it's rare to see more than one at a time.

You can read more about the tussock moth here.
