4th instar died this morning while attempting to pupate. No evidence of tachinid strings or pupa. I had collected this larva from my milkweed garden a couple of days ago. Last year there were many caterpillar deaths, both indoor-reared and among those left outside in the milkweed garden. Very concerning.
