This lovely and very welcome female was busily engaged in egg laying behavior in the milkweed patch (mostly syriaca, with just a few incarnata) in front of my house. The milkweed this year is heavy with blossoms, as many as seven to eight on some stalks. I'll start checking for the eggs later today.
