As of 7-17-20, I have not seen any sign of monarchs visiting my property. Both common and swamp milkweed are in bloom. Last year (2019) I happily observed monarch adults and eggs and larvae in abundance.
However, I am concerned about my C. Milkweed Patch, as the flowers wilted. (See Photo - 7-13)) We did have a dry spell, and I wonder if the plants were stressed. Finally the dry spell was broken with two rain events.
So, no monarchs seen and my C. Milkweed Flowers are not healthy. I hope that if and when a monarch finds our place, this milkweed will still attract the female monarch to lay eggs.
