I was checking out a beautiful patch of common milkweed in my friend's garden. (A 30 minute drive north of my home.) We saw quite a few chewed leaves but could not see who had done chewing. We looked and looked and then finally found one monarch larva caterpillar, fat, happy and content - resting.
I did not have my camera with me. Darn.
Always good to see my first larva. Hope to see one and many more on my milkweed soon. I just saw my first adult two days ago!
