Photo was taken by Castlewood Canyon State Park Volunteer Naturalist, Jim, while on a trail at Cherry Creek State Park. There is about an acre of this species. I have identified it as Asclepias incarnata, Swamp milkweed. If any JN reporters believe it to be a different species, please let me know. Jim says that it is attracting a large number and variety of butterflies, including what he believes to be monarchs.
