Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers
Sightings report image

Date: 07/29/2020

Number: 1

Every year during spring and fall migration we gave a female rubythroat that is something. She looks in our kitchen window looking in each visit. Then at 4 p.m. today after an all day rain event she then tours the patio area looking around at things. Her visits are always very curious and I feel for her this time. Since we had a June heatwave, and now a 6 day July tropical rain event plants have suffered.
The only thing she could find appealing was an aloe blooming, Aimstead barely blooming, shrimp plant 'fruit cocktail,' 'lady in red 'salvia all barely blooming. Hamelia pattens didn't appeal to her.
Since we have so many hummingbirds come thru this one is a joy and makes all our efforts worth it trying to save plants in all kinds of weather year round.
Hope you can see her in the photo thru the rain on window going to aloe.
