Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/01/2020

Number: 5

Today is a HUGE day for me! While watering today I spotted a Monarch caterpillar feeding on a small milkweed plant, thne another one on another plant, then another, by the end of the day I counted 5! I have NEVER had Monarch caterpillars. About 3 weeks ago I posted the first Monarch of the season and I had never had Monarchs before late August, early September. Could she have laid the eggs? I have a dilemma tho', I have 1 smallish mature milkweek and several small ones that grew from las years seeds. Is that going to be enough to feed 5 hungry caterpillars?? I have put an order in for 2 gallon size Swamp Milkweed, for curbside pick-up for Monday. Hope they make it til then! Fingers crossed!
