I observed a very bright and wet male monarch on a coneflower in my wife's front yard garden at 4:04 PM. It looks like it recently emerged from it's chrysalis. Weather was sunny with the Wind E-5 mph, and the Temperature was 75F. The wind was NW or WNW on July 20,26,27,29, and 30 with warm fronts. The same for August 2,4, and 5, but fronts were cooler. I have seen no directional migration flights as yet. The first directional flight has been August 11, 2015, since record keeping began in 2010.
