The wind was northwest today, so I went to the beach at Harrisville State Park to see if there was an early migration of monarchs. From 11:30 AM to 1 PM, I observed no monarchs at all. So, I went to 4 areas of milkweed and wildflowers that I monitor. I saw 2 monarchs nectaring on Russian Thistle. I returned home and watched on and off my backyard until 7 PM, and saw no monarchs. Weather was 100% sunshine with the Wind NW at 10 mph all day, and the Temperature topped out at 83F.
