Seems that the fall migration has begun. We're right on the lake. Have seen more around than last week. Look forward to when they become a constant flow westward. Always spectacular!!
[This observation is an estimate of the number seen] over maybe a week. Not hoards at one time like the big migrations will be but more than just one in the yard.
We live right on the shores of Lake Erie and have enjoyed the fall monarch migration over the lake the past few years when they fly east to west...a steady stream, non-stop flying for days, mostly over the beach and near-in water. Magnificent! Then they cluster in bushes and trees at night.
