It's been a busy, lively, lovely summer in the hummingbird habitat. Profuse flowers,a combination of many natives and annuals. Our native flowers are primarily from Prairie Nursery in Wisconsin.

The floral smorgasbords includes large areas of phlox, zinnias, big pots of Lantana.
Natives Fire Pink, Blue Lobelia, Cardinal flowers,Royal Catchfly,Common and Swamp Milkweed. There are also nasturtiums, Cuphea, Nicotinia, Clematis Ragouchi, petunias, Cannas, Casa Blanca lilies, impatients, Dicentria luxuriant, Perennial yellow foxglove, coral bells and Proven Winners salvias.

We also maintain nectar feeders in the habitat. Mid August finds the habitat filled with hummingbird chatter, aerial displays and games. Due to the vast amounts of flowers and feeders we rarely see aggressive behaviors.
