I decided to relax on my backyard swing at 1:30 PM to see what came by my Waystation #4357. After sitting down, I noticed a monarch on the Joe-pye-weed. I went close enough to make it out to be a female. The rest of the day she was joined by a Viceroy, Six-spotted Purple, and a Silver-spotted Skipper. I also saw a female Ruby-throated Hummingbird along with an American Goldfinch. All of these landed on the Joe-pye-weed flowers. There were also many Carpenter and Honey bees. At 7:10 PM, I went and got my camera and took a picture of the garden with the monarch in it. Later, at 8:57 PM, the monarch flew up into my neighbor's aspen tree. Weather was mostly sunny all day with the Wind SE 9-13 mph, and the Temperature topped out at 81F.
