We were counting Monarchs for the University of Missouri at this location. There are 3 major patches of swamp and common milkweed we planted there 3 years ago along with surrounding various wildflowers. We notice 4 monarchs at the most together, feeding on the milkweed nectar of the swamp and flying over the common (not in bloom). It may be possible there were a couple more but not counting due to their moving around as we disturbed the milkweed looking for eggs and cats. None found this week.
