Hummingbird, Other Observations

Date: 08/18/2020

Number: 2

This year's two juveniles appear to be on their own now. They're just ravenous, draining four feeders and constantly nectaring on bee balm and many other flowers in my yard. Any time I get anywhere near any of their food sources, they come zipping over to intimidate or "buzz" me. It's a riot! So much vocal bickering and communication as they zing by throughout the day!

They seem very healthy, energetic, curious and territorial. All systems are go for their impending migration.

Pops left about 10 days ago, and Mama seems to have departed sometime during the last two days.

A very successful hummingbird year here. I'll keep the feeders up through October.
