Posted 8/21/20. I have seen only 1 monarch from 8/19-8/20 fluttering through the yard. The monarchs, and also the yellow swallowtails, are very scarce this year. We usually have a very high number of them during the summer. We have close to an acre of milkweed down back plus the same flowers we always have (ones they love) up near the house. Not sure what's causing the drop in numbers. Miss them all.
