Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/22/2020

Number: 4

I have been checking both my common milkweed patch and swamp milkweed patch for new larvae.

Common Milkweed - I found two tiny larvae approximately 1/4 inch long - each.

Earlier in season 2020, I found larvae, but only on my common milkweeds.

Swap Milkweed - Finally, two larvae approximately 1 inch long seen munching on leaves. These are the first larvae I have seen on my swamp milkweed this season. Last year, my swamp milkweed sported numerous larvae. In fact, the larvae ate most of the leaves on the my large cluster of swamp milkweed - 2019
