TWO Monarch females depositing eggs in my butterfly/pollinator garden and nectaring on swamp milkweed flowers. While watching one female lay eggs on swamp milkweed, another flew in and preferred the common milkweed for egg laying; she also nectared on the swamp milkweed flowers between visits to leaves to deposit eggs. The first female flew off and I watched the 2nd one until she left--both were in this small space simultaneously briefly. Uncertain how many eggs were deposited--approx 5-7 stops on leaves by each female. 10:35 a.m. Sunday, August 23, 2020.
