It was a hot day today, so I decided to look hourly for monarchs in my backyard flower garden. No monarchs were observed from 10 AM to noon. At 1 PM, I saw a male monarch on my Joe-pye-weed. It stayed until 4 PM. I saw no monarchs at 5, 6, or 7 PM. At 5:44 PM, the Temperature, under mostly sunny skies, was a sticky 87F. The Wind was SSW-9 mph, but went around to the NW at 2 mph at 6:30 PM. Tomorrow is forecast to have NW winds all day. The monarchs may be migrating for me to count at the beach.
