This is the first time in 10 years that I have observed NO monarch eggs on any of the many healthy milkweeds in my suburban yard within the last 4 weeks.
Two neighbors within a mile have the same experience...NO eggs.
Also, I have observed many males sparring around nectar flowers in the yard, sometimes 4 or 5 at a time, but NO females.
I have released at least 10 males from tents ( raised from previous eggs) in the last 3 weeks, but only 1 female, today.
I wonder what is happening.
