Time was about 2:40 p.m. Clear sunny skies. Temperature was in the low 80s and humid. Nectar plants in the area include Joe Pye weed, variety of goldenrod and aster species, spotted knapweed. One single female was very active, spending more time in flight than nectaring. Flew up into this white spruce and rested for quite a while. Other butterflies that were spending more time feeding versus just flying included various skippers, white admiral and American lady.
