While visiting a friend, I noticed 1 large monarch butterfly flying near her vegetable garden. Nearby there is a corn field and there are flowers growing around her house. I suspect that there must be some milkweed in the area too.

My friend has noticed this monarch for a couple of days now.

With the migration starting...I am on the look out for monarchs.

I reported to JN 4 monarch larvae seen munching on my milkweed plants the other day. I put two of them into a cage on 8/26 hoping to raise them to adults.
