the last 2 weeks have seen mostly females Ruby throated nectating from my cardinal flower. I also have a feeder there and the females frequent there as well.

On our back deck we have 2 feeders that we see mostly males but an occasional female
There is a lot of territorial activity and guarding near the feeders. We noticed they are real fattening up. The juveniles have grown. And drinking longer at each feeding.

They are such a pleasure to watch. I never get tired of them. So amazing!
