Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/21/2020

Number: 1

It was a very warm, sunshiny day in the upper 80s in our backyard at Lake, Michigan when I spotted a lot of activity at our buddleia bush. A Monarch had arrived to nectar first at the bush and then a female ruby throated hummingbird cautiously approached the same branch to try to nectar briefly. Within seconds the Monarch showed dominance by flashing its wings and the hummingbird took off.
