Adult male rubythroat at 830 a.m. From the side his looks very black.
(he actually has a light ORANGE gorget) Since I'm posting late (sorry), this is the same male I sighted on my feeder on Tuesday, 09/01/20. See for details!
Since I have a stray cat problem here, I've had to remove 2 feeders from other locations, and have only one location now, safe from cats. I realize the male hummers don't prefer this location and so very few sightings :( but I catch them once in a while.
BEES! I also have a bee problem. the yellow jackets CAN get inside the bee-guard feeders!! What?. but the hummers are used to chasing away the bees. My HUMMZINGER feeder is the only TRULY BEEPROOF that works. Not the first nature with yellow flower beeproof ports, Nor the drippy older style Perky Pet yellow square holed ports, don't work. Suggestion would be to try the soda bottle style base with the flat top and smaller holes. Looks like it will work!
