Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/01/2020

Number: 14

I have had a successful butterfly garden season!
14 Monarch larvae have made it
thru to the final instar stage before pupating.
I noticed the tiny caterpillars back on August 25th and as of this morning, one of them has already started hanging upside down in the typical J-shape in preparation for chrysalis formation.
They are living on the tropical (annual) Asclepia.
