Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/03/2020

Number: 1

I cleaned my 2 feeders early this morning and noticed a female or young hummingbird, already watching me. I have had a lot of activity in the last 2 weeks or so.
Interestingly, while I have seen many photos of multiple hummingbirds at a feeder at once, in my approximately 6 years of feeding them, I had never noticed two feeding at once at either of my feeders until about a week ago. Prior, they have always chased each other off.
They must obviously be less interested in territory and more interested with fueling up for their migration south.
It was a treat for me to finally see 2 hummingbirds sitting next to each other drinking.
I had not thought at the time to mention it on this website because I had not realized the fall migration was so ongoing.
Just a reminder to the kind hearted people who look at this website. For every reported hummingbird (dot) there are probably hundreds more headed south unreported that can use the help of people cleaning and filling their feeders for the stragglers.
