Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 09/06/2020

Number: 1

I watched a female Ruby-Throated hummingbird searching 15-20 jewelweed flowers that grow along two sides of my home as a hedge. It was mid morning with sunshine and 60 degree temperatures.

Most of the jewelweeds are the pale variety with a few of the spotted variety mixed in.

This was my second sighting of a female Ruby=Throated hummingbird searching for nectar from my hedge. (The first sighting this season was on 9-2 and was reported with a photo submitted of part of my hedge.)
