My wife and I observed only two Monarchs today at the Big Meadows wayside. Earlier on August 9 we observed 25 monarchs. This was a disappointment today. It was dry there with only tall thistle and fall aster blooming.The milkweed was withered and dried up. However we did observe plenty of the yellow Swallowtail.
