We were kayaking with friends on the South Llano River and started seeing Monarchs,mostly on Swamp Milkweed, but also on other blooming plants along the water's edge. We saw them down river for the next 3-4 miles. I estimate well over a hundred, based on the numbers on plants etc. Our county is in severe drought and the only blooming plants available are along the river. I've not seen one until yesterday on the river.
