Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/10/2020

Number: 4

I took my 2 mile walk today and saw 1 monarch flying southwest at the end of 3rd Street at 1:45 PM. At 3rd Street and Main Street, I observed a monarch high overhead heading southwest. Another monarch was nectaring on a butterfly bush spike of flowers on the 3rd Street walkway in town. I tried to net it to tag, but it went in and out of my net! It headed south low over the ground. This is the 2nd day in a row I missed one. I decided to go to the public library flower gardens and saw one nectaring on Tall Goldenrod flowers. I didn't want to trample the flowers to try and net it. I walked back home at 2:30 PM. No other monarchs were seen to 7 PM. Weather was cloudy with the Wind N-10-15 mph. The Temperature topped out at 58F.
