7 ruby throated hummers are what I could count at once. I'm positive there were at least a dozen. All females & immatures. Every time I thought the last hummer had left for the evening another one would show up at a feeder. This happened 3 or 4 times. I watched a small female or immature feed and rest in the same group of salvias for over an hour. I might have blown my fall hummer migration by not having enough feeders out. I put 2 more feeders out today and was rewarded with more sightings.
I have never seen so much nectar feeding at flowers. These are either new arrivals or they're tanking up to leave soon. Sessions at nectar feeders were long also. Temps are unseasonably cool with lows in 40's and highs in 50's.
