Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/12/2020

Number: 9

It's very windy and a very cool 60 degrees. The sun is behind clouds. I really didn't think I'd see any.

My backyard is across from Crab Meadow marsh so there's always a lot of bird activity. So when I spot hummers it's always in the chaos of bird romper room with feeding stations and all kinds of foods.

7:45 am to 7:47 am:
Juvi male spent an extended period of time at my center feeder station. Sipped from all three feeders and then hovered at each one of them: 1--2--3. Counting? LOL, He didn't leave the yard. He flew into a huge drift of red and magenta roses.

At 8:05 am, I swear the same little guy came back to check the feeders: 1--2--3. LOL

8:11 am
Female drinks deeply from center station feeder #3.

8:19 am
Female drinks from center station. Perches, then zips away.

8:21 am
Female sips from back feeding station (in the zinnias et all). She flies directly to the center station and sips from third feeder. She then flies to the left to the hyssop and I lost her in there.

8:27 am
Adult female samples all 3 center feeders and takes an exceptionally long drink from the 3rd. She's in no hurry.

8:33 am
Adult female goes to center feeding station and sips from 3rd feeder. She's surveying the yard.

8:42 am
Juvi male goes to all three center feeders and then goes to the the feeders by the zinnias and sips from them.

At the same time a female goes to the center feeding station and sips from the 3rd feeder.

Maybe pests on the others in the center. Or, can it be too close to the 2 bird baths. I'll be changing the nectar today anyway.
