At the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center, the Ruffous Hummingbirds are guarding the Tecoma Stans (aka Yellowbells, Esperanza) and the Anisacanthus around the Visitor Center. There are many, but at any one time it's easy to see 3 to 5 nectaring from flowers. The black-chinned would like to also get in for a drink. We also feed them at two different sites (Visitor Center and the Bird Blind), so they are all fed. They should be in the region until maybe the second week in October.
