Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/12/2020

Number: 40

This morning, there were at least 40 hummingbirds at our feeders at CDRI (the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center & Botanical Gardens). The predominant species are black-chinned, Rufous, Calliope, and Broad-tailed. They were a mix of male, female and juvenile.

We had a cold front move through the area last week. By today (9/19/20), temps had warmed up to mid-70s and they were mostly all gone.
