Spotted two monarchs around 3:30PM on a hot, sunny afternoon (mid-80s) in the middle of a densely populated urban area. They were nectaring on some purple butterfly bushes among dozens of skippers and other small butterflies. We also witnessed them flying around together above the flowers, swirling around each other and then separating.
