Spotted the 5 cats went inside to get my camera and when I returned a preying mantis had just found one. It did not make it, he had chewed a small hole in the exoskeleton, large enough for him to bleed out. Looks like the other 4 are 5th instar so maybe a couple will make it. The attached pic shows two of the five.
