I sat in the yard and watched for migrating monarchs for an hour from 1:45 to 2:45 pm. It was sunny, 74 degrees, 4 mph nw light breeze. Counted 21 monarchs traveling southwest. 2 stopped briefly to nectar, one on hosta, one on a purple coneflower. A flock of swallows and dragonflies also passed by fairly high,and I noticed monarchs circling upward to catch a draft with them.
