2 Monarchs nectaring on Butterfly Bush, one hour before sunset.
There have been few Monarchs here this year. Most years I captive rear 75 plus monarchs. This year captive reared only one.
The Butterfly Bush is not in sunlight at this hour, so I suspect they are migrating and were preparing to roost for the evening. Sure enough after about 30 minutes of nectaring they flew up into a locust tree for the night.
