This was a large number of individuals nectaring on goldenrod (Canada), pasture thistle, tall boneset, and sawtooth sunflowers. We saw about 10 individuals for each 20 feet we hiked. Many were difficult to see, as the tallgrass and wildflowers are over our heads in places and most monarchs were feeding. As we walked, the disturbance revealed them. We went at 9 a.m. and at 5 p.m. Beautiful!
