9/15/20 Monarchs this morning at 7:10am sunrise at the Tip of Point Pelee National Park. 16c with light NW wind at 5/19 kmh. 4500+ began to disperse right at sunrise. My first video was 7:13am from the beach off west path looking east to their favorite Hackberry tree. They took flight high like 100+' and flitted SW over Lake Erie. Numerous bursts awed their audience. Majority of them were on their journey south by 8 am. About 50 were left in trees at 8:30am. One was observed nectaring on Golden Rod. Sky was smokey from fires on the west coast. A beautiful take off for the super generation!
