I was sitting on my patio looking east at about 1:55 pm when a Monarch butterfly suddenly came floating by from the east going west, about 15 feet off the ground.
What seemed odd was that it had apparently caught a wind current when there didn't seem to be any wind. I say that because I don't recall any flapping of its wings in the 30 foot distance I observed it before losing contact. It was a very peculiar experience but appreciated since Monarch sightings in my area seem to be much less than last year.
